A big well done to our Year 8 students for taking part in the national UKMT Maths Challenge competition.
The UKMT Maths Challenge encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems. It is designed to make students think. Learning is not just about remembering facts, it is also about developing skills that can then be applied within and outside of a subject area, for example, mathematical knowledge plays a crucial role in understanding the contents of subjects such as science, social studies, and even music and art.
Well done to all who participated in the Maths Challenge and to those who received an award; you all brilliantly demonstrated our school values of endeavour and courage.
