By including an enrichment courses in the Dallam Sixth Form curriculum our students gain extra valuable knowledge and skills that are highly regarded by future employers and universities.  All Sixth Form students will take one enrichment course plus Personal Development lessons.   

The enrichment options are: 

Core mathematics 

It supports the content in other subjects like the sciences, geography, psychology and business and by studying core mathematics, students will have a wider choice of careers pathways and be better equipped for many university courses.

Extended Project Qualification (EPQ)

Highly regarded by universities and employers, the EPQ introduces students to independent project management. Through this course planning, research, critical thinking, analysis, synthesis, evaluation and presentation skills are developed. The qualification is worth the equivalent of an AS Level.

Sports Leadership qualification 

This course gives students the opportunity to learn and demonstrate important life skills such as effective communication and organisation whilst learning to coach and deliver physical activities to all ages and within the community.   

The Sports Leaders UK Level 3 Award in Higher Sports Leadership can be undertaken in Year 13 and is a nationally recognised qualification worth 16 UCAS points.

New enrichment option for students starting in Sept 2022.  Volunteering can help you gain confidence by giving you the chance to try something new and build a real sense of achievement. Personal development 

Our goal at Dallam Sixth Form is to ensure our students leave us in Year 13 as mature, confident and responsible members of society ready to take on the world. 

As part of the Dallam Sixth Form curriculum there is an opportunity for students to focus on and develop additional skills and qualities that will have a considerable impact on personal growth.  We expect all our sixth formers to undertake aspects of the following areas of personal development during their time with us: 

  • careers and finance 
  • citizenship and ethics 
  • healthy living 
  • personal safety  
  • personal wellbeing 
  • relationships and sex education.
