Eyes down, ready for the spring term reading bingo challenge.
Encourage your child to do some wider reading around the books they are reading in class. You can take a look at the suggested books for each year in the download links below. Students will be given their bingo cards to put in their planners so they can easily see suggestions for what to read next and tick off the ones they’ve read.
As well as being enjoyable, wider reading can help your child with their studies as it can deepen their understanding of language conventions, styles, knowledge of a topic or issue and simply for increasing their vocabulary. This is just one of the literacy initiatives we use at Dallam to help our students to become skilled readers, expressive writers, confident speakers and perceptive listeners.
