A festive charity-tastic time at Dallam

MADD activity 2022

Christmas spirit was in full abundance at the end of term.  It was time for our annual Make a Difference Day (MADD).  Year 7 students put their creative talents to work in designing games for fellow students to play in order to raise money for charity.  Each Year 7 form class nominated their own charity and the £484 raised from all the MADD activities will be split equally between them.

The crazy activity of MADD is combined with the joy of Christmas Jumper Day.  All over the school we were blessed with seeing a range of eye-catching festive jumpers.  Staff and students gave a small charitable donation in return for being able to show-off their Christmas jumpers.  The £186 raised from Christmas Jumper Day will be added to the MADD fundraising and split between the Year 7s nominated charities.

If that wasn’t enough, the Get to give lunchtime club organised gift donations for a Christmas hamper raffle.  The response was so amazing from our school community that we ended up with THREE Christmas hamper prizes!  The Get to give club raised £182 and the lucky winners were Neve in Year 11, Tayabba in Year 10 and Harry in Year 8.

As a final festive activity of the year we wanted to wish our school community a very Merry Christmas.  We held a Christmas card designing competition for our Year 7 and 8s.  The winners were:

  • Elliott and Evie-Rose in Year 7
  • Clio, Sophie, Joseph, Ploy and Isobel in Year 8.

The 180 cards were written by Dallam students and hand-delivered to businesses and residents in Milnthorpe by our fabulous Sixth Form students on the last day of term.

Our students and school community have really demonstrated our school value of compassion during this festive season.  We thank you all for your support.
