Sports roundup for March 2023

Until the end of this spring term, the fixtures focussed on football, hockey and netball.  Unfortunately, the snow and heavy rain led to some fixtures being cancelled this half term.  Read below for details of fixtures and results. 

A huge well done to all our students who have taken part in extra-curricular sport and represented Dallam – whether you won, lost or drew – we’re proud of you!

In the summer term, fixtures will be focussed on cricket, rounders and athletics.  There will also be extra-curricular yoga club on Thursday and running club on Friday. 

Year 7

• Football against Carnforth. Drew 1-1.  Player of the match – Callum R.
• Football: lost in South Lakes Tournament.  Player of the match – Sam W.
• Football against Lakes School.  Drew 2-2.  Player of the match – Sam W.  
• Hockey: won 5-1 against Lakes School. Player of the match – Sophie B.
• Hockey: U12 South Lakes Tournament.  Won 2 games, drew 2 games and lost 2 games.  Player of the tournament Emily M-E.
• Netball: U12 Tournament. Finished third in group.  Player of the tournament – Ella G.
• Netball: won 8-3 against Lakes School.  Player of the match – Ella G.

Year 8

• Football: lost in South Lakes Tournament.
• Football: won 6-1 against Lakes School.  Player of the match – Ben H.
• Hockey: lost in U13 8-a-side South Lakes Tournament.
• Hockey: lost against Queen Elizabeth School and Queen Katherine.
• Hockey: lost against Lakes School.  Player of the match – Evie S.
• Netball: won 17-4 against Lakes School.  Player of the match – Aasha A.

Year 9

• Football: finished third in South Lakes 6-a-side Tournament.
• Football: finished second in 11-a-side competition.
• Football: won 7-1 against Lakes School.  Player of the match – Carla G.
• Netball: lost against Kirkbie Kendal.  Player of the match – Ava W.
• Netball: drew 6-6 against Queen Elizabeth School.  Player of the match – Esme S.
• Netball: won 10-9 against Lakes School. Player of the match – Holly R.

Year 10

• Football: finished third in 11-a-side competition.
• Netball: lost against Kirkbie Kendal.  Player of the match – Hannah S.
