The focus in school this half term has been on football, hockey and netball.  We’ve also competed in cross-country and table-tennis.  Read below for details of fixtures and results. 

A huge well done to all our students who have taken part in extra-curricular sport and represented Dallam – whether you won, lost or drew – we’re proud of you!

Year 7

  • Football against Kirkbie Kendal. 3 games played – won 2 and lost 1.
  • Hockey: lost against Cartmel Priory. Player of the match – Cherry B.
  • Hockey: beat Kirkbie Kendal 3-0. Player of the match – Ava H.
  • Netball: lost 2 games against Queen Elizabeth School. Players of the match – Ailsa S. and Lily G.

Year 8

  • Football: Dallam won the U13 6-a-side competition and came home the Winners of the Plate.  Player of the match – Ben J.
  • Hockey: lost against Kirkbie Kendal.  Player of the match – Sam B.
  • Hockey: won 8-0 against Cartmel Priory.  Player of the match – Bella S.
  • Netball: won 10-1 against Kirkbie Kendal. Player of the match – Aasha A.
  • Netball: lost against Queen Elizabeth School.  Player of the match – Aasha A.

Year 9

  • Netball: lost against Queen Elizabeth School.  Player of the match – Lydia J.
  • Netball: drew 6-6 against Queen Elizabeth School.  Player of the match – Esme S.
  • Netball: won 7-4 against Kirkbie Kendal. Player of the match – Lydia J.

Year 10

  • Football: lost in South Lakes 5-a-side competition.
  • Netball: lost against Queen Elizabeth School.  Player of the match – Hannah S.

Cross-country

In January, 11 Dallam students represented the South Lakes at the County Cross Country held at Sedbergh School.  All did brilliantly representing the school and their district.

Sophie R (Y12) won the Senior Girls race and is now County Champion!!  She ran an amazing race, leading from just after the first corner until the finish.

In the same race Sarah S. (Y12) finished second and Niamh B-R. (Y12) 25th.

In the Senior Boys race Evan A. (Y13) ran a brilliant race and finished fifth.  The other students who competed were:

  • Year 9: Holly J. and Harvey S.
  • Year 10: Ben T.
  • Year 11: Evan D.

Table tennis

Eight Dallam students qualified to compete in the Cumbria Schools Table Tennis Individual Tournament.  We had participants in the U13 boys, U19 boys and the U19 girls categories.  Well done to all the following students who took part and showed their enthusiasm, talent and dedication to playing the sport.
