Meet our past students

At Dallam Sixth Form we prepare our students for life, not a specific career.  Take a look at the stories below from some past students and where life has taken them since leaving Dallam.

If you are an ex-Dallam student join our Dallam Group on LinkedIn where you can share news and employment opportunities with other Dallam alumni.

Meet Alex Livingstone…

I am studying at Wingate University in North Carolina and have just finished my third year of four completing a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Psychology. Throughout my time at Wingate, I have been a student athlete as part of the swim team. I decided to study in the US because I felt there is a better balance between study and sport and it allowed me to continue to compete at a high level without compromising my education. I also felt that the education system suited me better in that all of my work throughout the four years contributes to my overall grade at the end; it’s not fully weighted on final exams.

In terms of academic achievements, I have achieved grades that have put me on the university presidents list for four semesters, meaning I had an overall average grade of an A. Swimming-wise I have achieved numerous personal best times and I am also currently placed in the Universities all-time top 10 swimmers for 200 backstroke.

There’s too many memorable moments to list all of them, but one of the aspects I enjoy most is how united the swim team is, how much of a family we are despite being from all over the world, and the friendships I will take away from my time at Wingate. One of the biggest lessons I learned while being here is that times in swimming don’t matter in the long run, it’s what you take from your sport and time at university that counts because it goes by a lot faster than you think.

Meet Daniel Slater…

I was successful in getting a place on a Foundation Degree in Nautical Science at Fleetwood Nautical Campus to become a Deck Officer in the merchant navy with Foreland Shipping Ltd.

I am in my third phase of my training in my second year. I’ve finished my first trip at sea visiting the Middle East. I am now studying voyage planning, maths and cargo management.

The organisation, study skills and confidence I developed at Dallam Sixth Form have been really useful since leaving Sixth Form.

Meet Katie Edmondson…
