At Dallam, we are keen on ensuring that all parents/carers are fully equipped in supporting their child at home during their GCSE examination year. In addition to the form tutor evening on 24 November, we are inviting all parents/carers into school to discuss the finer subject details with Heads of Faculty on Thursday 8 December from 16.30-18:30.
The idea of the evening is for you to feel more informed about details including:
- exam format
- number of exams and weightings of each, for each subject
- coursework components, if applicable
- exam boards
- subject specific revision tips.
The evening will run on a carousel basis; Heads of Faculty will run ten-minute sessions over the course of the evening. The Sixth Form team will also be available. The five-minute intervals between sessions will allow you to move around the different subject areas and allow you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have. Sessions will run at the following times with rooms confirmed on the evening.
Session 1 – 16:30 -16:40
Session 2 – 16:45 -16:55
Session 3 – 17:00 -17:10
Session 4 – 17:15 -17:25
Session 5 – 17:30 -17:40
Session 6 – 17:45 -17:55
Session 7 – 18:00 -18:10
Session 8 – 18:15 -18:25
When arriving, please access the site from the Haverflatts Lane entrance. Tea and coffee will be available.
