World Book Day started in 1995, Dallam will again be joining in the literary-focussed fun as a way of helping to deliver the World Book Day vision –

‘More children, from all backgrounds, developing a life-long habit of reading for pleasure, benefiting from the improved life chances this brings them.’

World Book Day 2 March 2023

On the day (2 March):

  • all students in Years 7-9 will receive their £1 World Book Day book token
  • there will be special activities in English and in the library
  • the whole school will take part in a short story reading in Period 2
  • there will be quizzes with prizes, including trying to guess the Mystery Readers hiding behind various books

Not to miss out on the fun, the canteen staff have created a special menu based around The Jungle Book!  Shere Khan’s tiger bread steak sandwich anyone?
