School sponsored walk

Next Wednesday we’ll all be putting on our walking boots and joining in with our whole school sponsored walk.

Years 7, 8, 9, and 10 students will walk to Heversham and then on to Levens Hall, followed by a circular walk around Levens Park. Staff and Sixth Form students will marshal the event. There will a stop for a packed lunch within the park and we will return to Milnthorpe before the end of the school day, walking 13km in total.

Students should come to school equipped for the day’s walk. They will need walking boots or strong trainers to give maximum support. Comfortable clothes such as cotton t-shirt, shorts or light trousers should be worn – no jeans please as these are very difficult to walk in if they get wet. They will also need a second layer such as a fleece for warmth and waterproofs for protection from the rain.

It is also essential that each student has a few plasters, sun cream, hat and any medication required (such as inhalers) in their bag. Everyone will need to have a packed lunch and a drink (Free School Meals will be catered for at the lunch venue).

We hope that everyone will be able to raise some money for the two nominated charities:

You can donate in two ways; click on the links below to donate via Just Giving.

Or alternatively, a sponsor form has been sent home for students to ask for donations from parents, grandparents, family and friends. Please can your child return these sponsor forms and cheques payable to ‘Dallam School’ in a sealed envelope by Tuesday 19 July and we will make payment to the charities above.

All students are expected to participate and, therefore, with their attendance at school you are giving consent for your child to take part in this event. If you do not give your consent, or if your child is unable to participate due to health issues, you must contact the pastoral hub as soon as possible and no later than Tuesday 19 July so that arrangements can be made for your child within school.
