National Scientific Thinking Challenge

Dallam School ·
National Scientific Thinking Challenge

Students from Year 10 Chemistry classes will be participating in the National Scientific Thinking Challenge during their normal chemistry lessons.

The challenge is authored by academics across university Chemistry departments at Warwick, Manchester, Bristol, Southampton, Oxford, Durham, and Newcastle. It aims to provide something positive and enjoyable for students whilst encouraging them to demonstrate their scientific thinking skills across STEM-related contexts.

For the challenge, students will be asked to examine data, graphs, and text, and then answer a series of online questions requiring them to make deductions, spot trends, suggest hypotheses, and identify anomalous results.

There are practice questions available online should you or your child wish to have a look at these beforehand (https://tinyurl.com/ynfkpfah).
