20 Dec will be our annual Make a Difference Day (MADD) and Christmas Jumper day. On this day, students are welcome to come into school wearing a Christmas jumper instead of their school blazer. We ask for a donation of £1, and all funds raised are divided between the Year 7 forms’ chosen charities.
MADD is a Christmas fair run by year 7s held in the school hall at lunch time. All students in Year 7 work in small groups to create a stall to raise money for a charity of their form’s choice. In the past, stalls have included hand-crafted pompom Christmas ornaments, guess the bear’s name or number of sweets in a jar, knocking down cans to win prizes, and raffles. It is up to each group of students to decide on their own stall.
Year 7s will have the chance to go around the fair and have a go on each others’ stalls. If they wish to do so, they will need to bring in some money for this.
We can’t wait to see their entrepreneurial ideas in action.
