Earlier finish for Easter

Dallam boarders at Blackpool Sandcastle Waterpark
Ready to plunge into the fun at Blackpool Sandcastle Waterpark

What a busy term this has been at the Boarding House. As my first in post as Headteacher at Dallam, it was particularly good to welcome an additional group of Italian students to study Maths and English with us at the Boarding House. We’re thrilled to say they reported back that we are the best school they’ve stayed with.

That’s just one great example of how well the unique mix of local, UK, and international students who stay with us for different periods of time works. And it shows that the supportive and inclusive culture across Boarding and the whole school campus helps students to thrive while they’re here.

The finishing date of this term was amended slightly and I just wanted to add a quick note to say we’ve already arranged a fee adjustment but any parents or students with questions can, as always, contact our team who are ready to help in any way they can.

Everyone in school is used to the INSET day model that facilitates training. It does, inevitably, take up some teaching time during the term. We’re combining these training days with some physical changes to our Boarding House medical facility so that will minimise further disruption for students.

As you know, I will soon be working with a newly appointed Head of Boarding, who joins us in September and brings a wealth of experience with her. In the interim, we have her former deputy (herself a very experienced boarding teacher) as acting Head of Boarding. It’s definitely an exciting time for all at Dallam.

I hope all students enjoy the Easter break and I’m looking forward to our summer term together. Alongside exams and academia, it’s a great time for students to really make the most of our facilities and location.
