As our Year 11 students near the end of their courses we have the pleasure of seeing the fruits of their learning in some of the practically-assessed course.
As part of their whole assessment, the students of the GCSE Hospitality and Catering course produced some beautifully crafted meals this week. So much thought went into the meals – they had to think about:
- special diets
- environmental issues
- customer needs.
The students had to demonstrate three preparation and three cooking skills, as well as think about presentation, and local and seasonal produce. They must be suitable for an apprentice to cook. They three hours to produce their meals with accompaniments.
