Travel write up: Year 7 history trip

School News ·

At the beginning of May, the Year 7s enjoyed a trip to the historic cities of Carlisle and Lancaster.  Seeing sites and objects first-hand allows students to truly think about the past and understand the reality and significance of historical situations.

Read Joseph in 7Gs write-up of the visit to Carlisle.

Here are some photos of the Lancaster trip.

“We had a very successful day in both Lancaster and Carlisle, although the weather tried to dampen our spirits in Carlisle! Students were able to learn about some local history and the significance of each of the cities and came away with great knowledge. They also enjoyed their experiences at the castle and gained a greater understanding of the key features of castles.” – Miss Gribbin, Assistant Head of Humanities
