What can we do to help Ukrainians?

School News ·

1.  Collecting donations

There is a growing level of interest among students in the current situation in Ukraine; many have asked what they can do to help the humanitarian crisis.  From seeing images of people fleeing the conflict with children, pets and only the things they can carry the Get to Give Club has decided to work with local donation centres and is taking donations of goods until Friday 18 March.  Any donation, however small, will be gratefully received. Second-hand, clean and usable items such as towels and blankets can be donated.  If every family at Dallam added one item to this week’s shopping list, we will make a big difference to those in dire need.

2.  Fundraising event

The students at Dallam boarding house are organising a fund-raising event in aid of the Ukraine crisis on Sunday 20 March at 11am-2pm.  It will be held at the M-Hub in Milnthorpe.  There will be a cake stall, nearly new clothes sale, raffle, arts and crafts, face painting, kids’ carnival games, tea and coffee.

If you would like to contribute to the cake stall, please drop off your bakes at the M-Hub on the Sunday morning.  Students will be selling raffle tickets in school, so please encourage students to bring in money to buy them.  All proceeds raised from the boarding fundraising activities will go to Ukraine via the Disasters Emergency Committee
