Even though the temperature has only been between 4-8 °C (39-46°F) this half term this has not stopped students and the Dallam PE dept having a busy time with lots of events going on for our students and the local primary schools.  A large group of cross-country runners qualified to represent the district in January’s Cross-country Championships which was held at Sheepmount in Carlisle.  A number of these athletes have gone on to run for Cumbria in the northern counties event at the start of February.

Cross-country was also the focus for our primary school children.  Their event was run superbly by our Sixth Form Sports Leaders at our Heversham site and included six of our local primaries.  Read more about it here.

This half term has seen fixtures home and away in netball, hockey and football.  Dallam also hosted Year 8, 9 and 10 football tournaments held over three Wednesday evenings on our 3G astro, a special mention to our Year 8 team who won their event; they played brilliantly winning 4 and drawing 1 of the 5 games, not conceding a goal in the entire tournament!
