Pastoral care at Dallam

Happy and confident students are more likely to gain the best from their school years.  Our pastoral care provides many touchpoints with our students so we can check in on how they are doing academically, socially and emotionally.  Our staff are there for when our students need them, and to step in when we feel they may need some support.  Our pastoral care is provided by:

Form tutors 

They are a regular friendly face they see daily at form time.  Form tutors are an easy go-to person for students for dealing with day-to-day issues.   

Pastoral co-ordinators  

Working closely with the Heads of House, our school pastoral coordinators are the first point of contact for parents and students related to pastoral, medical and any absence from school issues.  Contact pastoral@dallamschool.co.uk .  Our pastoral co-ordinators are dedicated to supporting the health and wellbeing of students and making sure that students are behaving in a way that reflects our school values. They are non-teaching staff, so always there for students and parents. 

Heads of Year

Responsible for ensuring all our students keep on track to achieve the best they can academically and ensuring they develop into responsible, respectful and caring individuals.

Safeguarding team  

Our robust safeguarding policy is rigorously promoted through the school, with all staff and students knowing who to turn to in school for advice and support if any issues arise.      Safeguarding topics are regularly covered in school assemblies and personal development classes, sometimes with guest speakers from the community police or youth community advice groups, to educate our students on how to keep themselves safe and well, both mentally and physically and where to seek help if needed.      We understand that some students may be anxious about starting a conversation about problems they may be having.  We have an online channel (confide) that all students can access from any school computer so they can reach out to our safeguarding team discreetly and in a manner they may feel more comfortable with.     If you have any concerns about your child’s schoolwork or wellbeing, in the first instance, please contact the pastoral team on pastoral@dallamschool.co.uk so we can make sure the right member of our team can deal with things.
