Student leaders give readings at Remembrance ceremony

On Remembrance Day we were joined by Mrs Sheila Ashburner from the Milnthorpe British Legion as we paused to remember and pay our respects to those who made sacrifices to protect our freedom.

Our Head Student, Grace Poxon, read the poem In Flanders Fields.  Deputy Head Student Amy Medcalfe read the names of the students and teachers who died in action in WWI and WWII from one of our founding schools, Heversham Grammar School.

Representatives from each year group then laid a poppy as a token of remembrance before Mr Fuller and Mrs Clifford-Perkins played The Last Post and the silence was observed.

The ceremony was live-streamed so that all pupils and staff could watch.

On Remembrance Sunday our Deputy Head Students, Lucy Rowe and Tatum Seaward, laid a wreath at the service at Milnthorpe Parish Church.  Representatives from our Boarding Leadership Team attended the service at Heversham Parish Church to lay a wreath.
