The British Physics Olympiad

School News ·

12 students from Year 11 and Year 12 took part in the British Physics Olympiad.  This is a problem-solving competition and a great opportunity for students to experience the perseverance and determination required to solve harder problems in physics and maths and develop their confidence in the subject.

Over 4000 students from 238 schools take part nationally each year.  Matthew Acott in Year 12 achieved a Bronze Award, placing him among the top 50% of participants nationally.

Well done to all our Dallam participants.

To give you a flavour of the type of questions the participants had to tackle, here are a few examples from past papers.  See how you do!
