The summer term for our Year 12 students always has a big focus on the future and students thinking hard about their next steps after the Sixth Form. Students have seen presentations both in and out of school throughout the year on various aspects of further and higher education. Applying to college and university can be a complex and time consuming process and it will be important for students to take full advantage of the guidance available in school.
On Thursday 05 May, Mr Henneberry and Miss Edwards, alongside representatives from Northumbria University and Lancaster and Morecambe College, delivered a Dallam Futures advice evening for both parents/carers and Year 12 students to help students in their next steps for the future. The presentations covered undergraduate degrees, one-year course opportunities, HNCs, HNDs, as well as the college and university applications process, key dates, attending open days and information on student finance. Feedback from both parents/carers and students was overwhelmingly positive with 100% of feedback recommending the evening to future Year 12 students.
